Children’s Ministry
Our Children’s Ministry is committed to glorifying God and assisting families in their desire to enjoy a deeper relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ. In order to assist our families, we access two Sunday school curriculums for our children. You can read more about these curriculums here.
Our Nursery and Infant Ministry is designed so that a family may be together on the Lord’s Day. Our intention is for families to be comfortable in allowing their infant to be shepherded by the Nursery Ministry volunteers so that parents may worship corporately in God’s Sanctuary. We provide a comfortable closed circuit television room for nursing mothers.
Music Instruction Class
“Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly, teaching and admonishing one another in all wisdom, singing psalms, hymns and spiritual songs with thankfulness in your hearts to God” (Col. 3:16).
“I will sing with the spirit, and I will sing with understanding also” (I Cor. 14:15).
God not only commands us to sing, He tells us what to sing and to do so with understanding. Throughout the year, the music ministry offers four to eight-week classes for children in grades two through six. Each study emphasizes singing for the purpose of praising God, enriching individual and corporate worship, and memorizing scripture. Instruction includes emphasis on correct vocal production and foundational music reading skills.
Previous studies include:
Singing Psalms, Hymns and Spiritual Songs
Psalm Singing
Singing Prayers
Hymns on Holiness (pdf brochure)
Transition Class
Each Spring an 8-week Transition Class is offered to children who are currently a part of the children’s church offering. Though we suggest you allowing your child to be a part of this, you may prefer to have them join you in corporate worship at this time (children’s church is ceased during the Spring and Summer). Details about this Transition Class can be accessed here. Following the end of this offering, your child will have “graduated” from children’s church and will be expected to join their family during the corporate worship times on the Lord’s Day. We would encourage you that practice for their integrating into corporate worship should not be left to this Transition Class alone but take place during your family worship times at home and when they are under your care throughout the day. The encouragement the Lord provides in Deuteronomy 6:7 comes to mind, You shall teach them diligently to your sons and shall talk of them when you sit in your house and when you walk by the way and when you lie down and when you rise up. If you have questions during this Transition Class on how to instruct your child in preparation for corporate worship there are a number of excellent resources on our kiosk as well as saints who have gone before you to share their experience and what worked for them. Please contact me and I can assist with getting the right books and/or family for you.
With blessings,
Mr. Mike Bordwine
